2019 Creating with YOU Crop of HOPE

Once You Choose Hope, Anything Is Possible

Christopher Reeves

Each year we join together in our crafty goodness and hold a Crop of HOPE. We select a charity to work with to make a difference in the struggles they face, the battle before them and hope they hold in their hearts for so many.

Many of us have had our lives effected by devastating circumstances that have left us with life long scars and loss. The Crop of HOPE is our day to remember that together we can make a difference. Not only in our lives but others needing a little hope in their lives as well.

Our own Slick Scissor Sisters, our crafty group members, are a group of powerful women who are changing the world for the better every single day. Individually we are supporting our communities, our country and the world with our personal efforts to be part of the hope that sustains us all. Each May we come together and dedicate our efforts on a selected charity. At our May All Day Crop event we host an auction, have raffles, crafting competitions, special project kits, games and so much more all with the hopes of raising as much money as we can to donate to our special selected charity.

2019 CWY Charity

I am so proud of our 2019 focus charity, The Ronald McDonald House.

The Ronald McDonald House of Delaware provides a temporary residence for families of seriously ill or injured children receiving treatment at area hospitals.

In addition to providing a place to stay, the House offers nurturing and supportive environments where families can be together and find comfort.

Many families travel far from home and spend several weeks or months to get treatment for their seriously ill or injured children – a long time to be away or to divide a family. And, for children facing a serious medical crisis, nothing seems scarier than not having mom and dad close by for love and support.

Since our doors opened in June 1991, we have welcomed nearly 49,000 families.  In 2018, we served 1,910 families.

Together we will share our love of crafting while making a difference in this most amazing charity. I have been touched by personal stories I have read about the support and kindness this charity offers to families dealing with the unthinkable, an ill child. The organization, staff and volunteers give tirelessly daily to make a home and provide much needed care and support to so many. Please join us and help make a difference!

We are asking all Crop of Hope participants to bring items from the house’s wish list for a care basket to be delivered with our donation. Please click this link for the latest needed items. We ask that you donate items that will not expire or spoil as the donation will not be made the day of the crop. These donations will receive a raffle ticket for a special raffle!

We look so forward to having another amazing Crop of Hope for 2019! Join us and be part of the difference of giving HOPE!

Thanks and Hugs to you all!
