I am so excited to announce the launch of our brand new website! There may be a new look around here but the love, gratitude and dedication are staying solid and staying put. One of my goals is to always offer all my crafty peeps the very best. This amazing new website is part of making your experience with Creating with YOU the very best. We will now be able to offer better features to meet your needs. The new site features: easy registration for events, clinics, guides and workshops, an informational blog, newsletters, video tutorial streaming, and online sales! Wow, we just keep on growing.
A few things to pay attention to:
1) Please make sure to subscribe to our new website. This is a completely new website and any information in the old website did not carry over. There will be so many new things to stay up on and our new and improved creatingwithyou.com will be the place to follow.
2) Get to know the site, take it for a ride and see where things are located. There are several updates planned for our new site over the next couple months. Check back and look around and see what we have been up to.
3) Share the good news with your friends! We have enough crafty goodness for everyone to join the fun.
I can hardly believe how much we have all grown together over these past years. The fun just keeps getting better and better. Lots of fun with Succa For You and a Mini Card
Project Featured in our January 10, 2022 Sunday Live with CWY
The moment I saw our "Succa For You" Stamp Set (Item #D2077) I knew I was hooked! I mean come one, with that pun. Featured in the Close to my Heart Jan-Feb Idea Book was a beautiful piece of artwork showcasing this stamp set paired with our Circle Cut Slimline Thin Cut. There was something so simply beautiful about the card I knew I wanted to remake it. I also knew when I was done, I would want to do it again and again. For this week's Sunday Live with CWY, I wanted to showcase the basic idea of the slimline card but show a variation on how we could create smaller versions of cards using the Slimline Thin Cut.
Some creative thin cutting and a beautiful glittery patch and you have a perfect mini card with a fabulous sentiment! These mini cards are perfect for so many good things. One of my favorite ideas is to use it as a page flap cover for a special bookmark. These adorable cards are quick, easy and fun so you can make as many as you like and share them with everyone.

Oh Deer, I am in love with this one!!! Take a look at this beautiful card that was shared during our weekly crafty Facebook Live video. During our October 24, 2021 Sunday Live with CWY we got to be introduced and craft with so many fun and new Close to my Heart goodies. Combining all of these “luxury” craft goodies made me feel so giddy! I will admit, anytime I add a few of the “finer things” to my project, it just feels more special. It somehow lifts the project and me at the same time.
This special shaker card uses so many of our new items paired with our Stitched Rectangle Frames Thin Cut. I shared several tips, tricks and techniques for using these frames at the beginning of the video. The Rectangle Frames are a classic. Many of us added them to our collections when they were first released. I knew right away they were craft arsenal quality. If you didn’t grab them up yet, don’t worry, they are still available on my Close to my Heart website. Check out the shop button and link to the right.
This shaker card is centered around two things – Our new Curved Rectangle Frame and new Holly and Ivy Collection. I used the Holly and Ivy papers paired with our incredible Pearl paper to create the color pallet and shaker. Adding the Holly and Ivy Scrapbooking Stamp and Thin Cut set was the perfect pairing and focal for this special card. I am loving everything about this dear!! LOVE (insert so many hearts)!
I know some crafters may thing shakers are a bit scary. I think this card is so beautiful it may just make you want to tackle that fear. I go step by step in this video to get you through the entire project. This is in real time so you won’t miss a thing!

Welcome Autumn Slimline Card
I am so delighted with the turn out of this Autumn Slimline Card using our Close to my Heart "Autumn is Calling" Stamp and Thin Cut Set (Item #Z4320). I shared this project during our October 17, 2021 Sunday Live with CWY craft time featured on the Creating with You Facebook page. I love everything about this stamp and thin cut set! The photo above has been linked to the video so you can all watch. (Don't forget to make your own!).
Autumn is my season to craft for so many reasons. The color pallet first, my ALL TIME FAVE! But what I really think fuels my craft mojo, this time of year, are all the things this season brings to me. The verse in this stamp set reads "Leaves are falling, Autumn is calling". As soon as I feel the crisp air of Autumn and see those leaves begin to change, I am filled with warm thoughts. This is my favorite season to craft, bake, cook, plan and enjoy the great outdoors. From apple picking to photo taking, this is my season to live my best.
I took some inspiration for this card from our CTMH Idea Book. Our Idea Books are jammed packed with creative inspiration in addition to showcasing the incredible variety of products we offer. Adding the multi color stamped leaves and heat embossing really adds a level up. I decided a wonderful addition as well as a fun way to change up this card was to add the "thanksgiving" from our All Occasion stamp set embossed in gold. The end result is a beautiful card welcoming a very special season and holiday.

Veterans Honor Card Workshop
Veterans’ Honor Card Making Workshop – Highly Limited!
This is a very special CWY card workshop. I wanted to create a thoughtful and caring card workshop that would allow us to honor our Veterans and their family members in a memorable and beautiful way. When I saw our CTMH Stars and Sparklers line, my creative mojo kicked into gear. Pairing this paper with the Because of the Brave Stamp and Thin Cut Set (separate purchase required, see details below) and the beautiful Star Sequins has been a crafty dream come true. As I look over these cards and see the heartfelt meaning behind each one, I have a full heart. I can’t wait for you to join me for this very special workshop.
These three card designs have been created to share and express our gratitude for those who have given us all so very much. Two cards have been created to send to Veterans and their families thanking them for their service. We all know when a person answers the call to serve, the entire family serves with them. The final card has been designed to share with family members who have Veterans who are no longer with us. This card is a special way to show our love and respect for them and their loved ones. This card will also hold a packet of Poppy seeds for them to plant and grow to honor their loved one.
I am very happy with the final result for this workshop and I am so happy to share it with all of you.

Tips about Alcohol Markers
Have you heard the big news? We like to color just as much now as we did when we were kids. Yup, totally true! lol Alcohol Markers are all the RAGE, so I thought I would share a few quick tips.
Tip 1: Not all alcohol markers are equal.
Since alcohol markers have become so popular we are seeing more and more hit the markets. Greater variety does not always mean better. More can sometimes just mean more. Our Tri-Blend Spectrum Nior markers are, in my opinion, the finest quality available!
Tip 2: It is all about the blendability (that's totally a word, right).
Although there are many things I love about alcohol markers one is at the top of my list... blendability. This is my own way of describing the difference between our alcohol markers and the rest. Each Spectrum Noir marker comes with three shade varieties in each marker! That's like three markers in one. And they beautifully blend to create additional colors and shading like no other.
Tip 3: Use the right paper.
If you want to have a final piece of art you will love it isn't just about the markers. You need the perfect partnership of marker and paper. Our CTMH White Daisy paper is the perfect canvas for your creative inspiration with alcohol markers. Featuring a higher paper weight and incredible quality, this paper stands above the rest!
Tip 4: When stamping, ink matters.
I will keep this tip short. Intense Black Ink is the way to go! CTMH Intense Black ink is a solvent based ink that is acid free and permanent. This patented ink formula is also waterproof, non-smearing and fast drying. in other words... it is FABULOUS.
Tip 5: Saturation of your paper.
It is always best to start with your lightest color shade and completely saturate the paper. This provides the optimal ink base and will create a base of color to blend and shade. A quick way to know if you have ink saturation is to check the reverse side of your paper for your ink marks.
Tip 6: Shading makes it come to life.
Alcohol markers offer shading like no other. As they say, it is all in the details. Well, the details are the shading. Blend in the right order to help you achieve the best shading. Lightest, darkest blended with mid color, final blending with lightest. Then add some flicks, lining, brushing as you like.
Tip 7: Know your colors.
Create an ink chart or paper color swatch for your markers. It is always best to create this on the actual paper you will be using for your projects. By using the same paper you will ensure you have a direct match with each marker shade.
Tip 8: Have Fun!!!!
Yes, please have fun. Don't take it all too seriously and don't be afraid to try new things. Blend your reds and oranges, try adding a few extra dashes of color at the end, take a chance and learn as you go. And just remember each creation is perfect just the way it is and so are you!
